Mayor

"Stay brave!“

Luca Phillip Piwodda, born in 1999, grew up in the Brandenburg border town of Gartz (Oder).

In 2024, 74 % of the Gartzer:innen elected him as honorary mayor. The youngest in Brandenburg.

His first official acts were Online weekly reports for maximum transparency, open coffee mornings with senior citizens to get people talking about politics, and the reactivation of an overgrown BMX track

„Courage is the only way to create something“

Whether on stage, in podcasts or at village festivals, he always emphasises that democracy thrives on genuine participation. In 2018, he founded the Free Parliamentary Alliance (FPA).

At the same time, he is developing concerts, readings and workshops in the venerable St Stephen's Church through Kulturallianz e.V. Culture as the cement of the community.

For Luca, the future begins where people dare to take responsibility. Renewable energies, citizen participation, co-working in the town hall. What Luca has set up in his community is already considered a blueprint for rural areas.
