About:
Merle Arnika Fuchs studied micro- and molecular biology in Germany (Universities of Göttingen, Tübingen and Braunschweig), the Netherlands (Wageningen Agricultural University) and the United States (Scripps Research Institute). She completed her diploma and doctoral thesis (innovative oligonucleotide and protein design) in the laboratory of Nobel Laureate Manfred Eigen at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in Göttingen, Germany.
Since 1997, Merle has been supporting innovative and technology-oriented companies, innovation networks and investors. To this end, she founded the consulting company TechnologieContor in 2000. Since then, she has advised more than 550 innovative, predominantly technology-oriented start-ups and growth companies from Germany and abroad and is co-founder of seven high-tech start-ups in the fields of biotechnology, chemistry and photonics. Her focus is on innovation, international establishment, strategic planning, market entry, international expansion and financing (including grants, private investors and venture capital).
Merle sits on the advisory board of the EXIST programme for the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology; she is a member of various juries, including those for the Leibniz Association and IQ Mitteldeutschland; she is a scout for the High-Tech Gründerfonds and lectures at various universities.
With her family, she loves individual travel, urban farming, and cooking.
